Privacy policy

Last updated 12 September 2026.

Overview and scope

This Privacy Policy governs how Monetization Calculator ("we", "us", or "our"), accessible at monetizationcalculator.com, processes information when you visit or interact with our website.

Our core architecture follows a privacy-by-design model. We provide free planning calculators and reference tables for creators and publishers. The site does not require user registration, does not offer user accounts, and does not operate a database linking calculation inputs to your personal identity.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect, log, or store the numerical values, revenue figures, niche categories, or traffic projections you enter into any calculator on this site. All calculation functions execute locally within your browser using client-side JavaScript. Your calculations are not transmitted to our servers during interactive sessions.

We do not request or process sensitive personal data, including financial account credentials, payment card numbers, national identification numbers, physical addresses, or authentication credentials.

Client-side execution and url state

When you adjust values within a calculator, the application encodes those parameters directly into the URL query string in your browser address bar. This mechanism generates persistent, shareable links without requiring server-side storage.

Because query parameters form part of the requested URL:

  • Anyone with whom you share a generated link will be able to view the specific parameters and calculated outputs encoded in that address.
  • When your browser requests a page using a share link, the full URL, including all query parameters, is transmitted to our hosting server in standard HTTP request headers.
  • Third-party measurement scripts (specifically Google Analytics) record the full page path, including any query parameters present in the URL at the time of the page view.

If you do not wish to transmit hypothetical numbers or rate choices in web request paths, do not share generated links and remove query parameters from your browser address bar before reloading the page.

Web server access logs

When you connect to our website, our hosting infrastructure automatically records technical request data in standard web server access logs. This information includes:

  • Internet Protocol (IP) address of the requesting device
  • Date, time, and timezone of the request
  • HTTP request method and Uniform Resource Identifier (URI), including URL query parameters
  • HTTP response status code and transferred bytes
  • Referring webpage URL
  • User-Agent string specifying browser type, rendering engine, and operating system

We process access logs under the legal basis of our legitimate interests in operating a secure and reliable network. Specifically, logs are used to diagnose technical errors, maintain infrastructure capacity, mitigate distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, and investigate security threats.

Server access logs are retained in standard server rotation files, typically for up to 30 days, after which they are automatically overwritten or deleted. We do not sell server logs, do not use them for behavioral profiling, and do not attempt to correlate raw IP addresses with individual visitors except when investigating an active security incident or complying with a binding legal order.

Google Analytics and measurement

We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service operated by Google LLC ("Google"), using measurement identifier G-SN2SVC5243. Google Analytics helps us understand aggregate visitor traffic, measure engagement across different calculators, and evaluate overall website performance.

Google Analytics collects information including:

  • Aggregated page views, scroll activity, and interaction events
  • Referring traffic sources and acquisition channels
  • Coarse geographic location derived from IP addresses (at city, regional, or country level; IP addresses are not stored or accessible within Google Analytics 4 reporting)
  • Device characteristics, browser software, screen dimensions, and operating system versions

Google Analytics places first-party cookies (such as _ga and associated container cookies) in your browser to distinguish unique user sessions across pages. Because calculator share links carry parameters in the URL, visiting a share link transmits those query parameters to Google Analytics as part of the recorded page address.

Google processes this data as our processor. For additional details regarding Google's data practices, review Google's published privacy documentation.

You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data on your visits by using any of the following methods:

  • Installing the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Configuring your browser settings to reject cookies from third-party or measurement domains.
  • Enabling content-blocking extensions or privacy tools that block scripts from googletagmanager.com.

Contact form communications

If you submit a message through our contact page, we collect:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • The content of your message
  • A cryptographic anti-abuse token used to confirm human interaction

Contact submissions are processed by our application server and forwarded as transactional emails to our administrative inbox. We use this information solely to review your message, investigate bug reports or rate corrections, and provide a direct response. We do not add contact form respondents to marketing lists or sell contact details to commercial vendors.

To protect our communication channels against automated abuse and denial of service, our server records the submitter's IP address in an ephemeral, in-memory sliding window rate limiter. This cache tracks submission attempts over a rolling one-hour window. It operates strictly within volatile server memory, is never written to disk or a database, and purges automatically.

Messages received via email are retained in our email system for the duration necessary to resolve your inquiry and maintain routine business correspondence, after which they are periodically archived or deleted.

Cookies and browser storage

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. Our site uses the following categories:

  • Functional state. The core calculators run in client-side memory and do not set cookies to calculate estimates. Input states are reflected in URL query parameters rather than cookie storage.
  • Analytics cookies. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (notably _ga, with a default lifespan of up to two years, and session cookies with a lifespan of up to 24 hours) to distinguish unique visitors and track session continuity.

You can configure your browser to block, filter, or delete cookies at any time. Blocking cookies will not impair the mathematical operations or display of any calculator on this site.

Data sharing and third-party disclosures

We do not sell, rent, monetize, or trade personal data to third parties. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We disclose technical data only to service providers acting on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations, strictly to operate our platform:

  • Hosting and infrastructure. Web hosting and cloud infrastructure partners that host our application and deliver web assets.
  • Email delivery. Transactional email delivery services used to transmit contact form submissions to our inbox.
  • Analytics. Google LLC, for web measurement and analytics services under Google Analytics terms.

We may also disclose information where required by law, subpoena, or valid legal process, or when we determine in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the security and integrity of our systems, defend against legal liability, or safeguard the rights and safety of our users or the public.

Data security

We maintain technical and operational safeguards appropriate to our data processing activities. All network traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted in transit using Transport Layer Security (TLS / HTTPS). We use transient, in-memory rate limiting to block automated abuse and restrict administrative access to our hosting and email environments.

No method of Internet transmission or electronic storage is entirely secure. While we apply reasonable technical measures, we cannot guarantee absolute security against unauthorized access or compromise.

Data retention

We retain data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes set out in this policy:

  • Calculator entries. Zero days on our servers. All inputs run in client memory on your device.
  • Web server access logs. Retained in standard server log rotations for up to 30 days, then deleted.
  • Rate-limiting records. Retained in volatile server memory for up to one hour, then purged.
  • Contact communications. Retained in our email correspondence archive until resolved and deleted.
  • Analytics metrics. Retained according to standard Google Analytics 4 retention configurations.

Your privacy rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (such as the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California, and other US states with consumer privacy statutes), you may possess legal rights regarding personal data relating to you. These rights may include:

  • The right to confirm whether we process personal data and to request access to that data
  • The right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data
  • The right to request erasure of your personal data, subject to statutory retention exceptions
  • The right to object to or restrict processing grounded in legitimate business interests
  • The right to data portability for information provided directly to us
  • The right to be free from discrimination for exercising your statutory privacy rights

Because Monetization Calculator operates without user accounts, persistent user profiles, or server-side tracking of calculator entries, we do not possess practical means to associate anonymous server logs or URL query strings with a specific individual. We cannot identify, retrieve, or delete anonymous access logs upon an unverified request unless you provide the specific technical identifiers (such as the exact IP address and timestamp) required to locate a discrete record.

If you have submitted a message through our contact page and wish to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your email correspondence, please contact us from the email address used in the submission.

Children's privacy

Monetization Calculator is a general-audience website designed for creators, publishers, and planning professionals. The site is not directed to children under 13 years of age, or under 16 years of age in jurisdictions where a higher age threshold applies under local privacy laws. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal details through our contact form, please notify us so we can remove the record promptly.

International data transfers

Our web servers, hosting infrastructure, and third-party service providers (such as Google LLC and our email delivery services) operate in the United States and other jurisdictions worldwide. If you access our site from outside the United States, your technical requests and contact messages will be transferred to, processed, and stored in locations where data protection laws may differ from those in your home country. Where required by applicable law, our service providers maintain recognized safeguards for international data transfers.

Changes to this privacy policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect technical modifications to our site, shifts in operational practices, or changes in legal requirements. When revisions occur, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Any revised policy takes effect immediately upon publication on this URL. We encourage you to review this page periodically to remain informed about our privacy practices.
