RPM calculator
Volume, RPM, or revenue. Enter any two and get the third.
The RPM formula
Revenue = (volume / 1,000) × RPM. RPM = (revenue / volume) × 1,000. Volume = (revenue / RPM) × 1,000.
Use one mode at a time. If you are solving for revenue, the revenue field is ignored. If you are solving for RPM, the RPM field is ignored.
If you do not have an RPM yet
If you do not yet have an RPM because you have not monetized, use the YouTube or website calculators. They start from niche tables. This page is for when two of the three numbers already exist.
Questions
What is the RPM formula?
RPM = (revenue / volume) × 1,000. Volume is views, pageviews, or impressions, so always specify which unit you are measuring.
Is RPM the same as CPM?
No. CPM is what advertisers pay per 1,000 impressions. RPM is what you keep per 1,000 units of your inventory. Fill rate, viewability, and revenue share sit between them.
Why does my back-into-RPM number differ from Studio?
Studio RPM uses YouTube's own definition of monetized playbacks and date ranges. If you divide estimated revenue by all views, including non-monetized and Shorts, you will not match.
